Brown Sugar, orange juice, and spices like nutmeg are really what help to round out the ham and make it a winning dish.

For those of us with kids and busy lives, the long cooking time is usually a big deterrent for not wanting to make ham outside the obligatory holidays.

But with this Instant Pot recipe, you can have a delicious spiral-cut ham on the table in no time. Thus, taking away the negatives and giving us all positives for eating more ham!

How to make Honey Glazed Ham?

  1. In a bowl, combine the honey, brown sugar and ⅓ Cup orange juice with cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg. Stirring to combine.
  2. Pour the remaining 1 cup of orange juice in the bottom of the pressure cooker.
  3. Place your spiral cut ham on a trivet in the pressure cooker.
  4. Pour 1 teaspoon of juice between each slice of ham, reserving the remaining glaze.
  5. Close the lid and set the pressure cooker to manual pressure cook for 10 minutes.
  6. Place the remaining glaze in a small saucepan and bring it to a boil. Allow it to boil for 30 seconds and then remove it from the heat.
  7. The glaze will thicken as it cools.
  8. Allow a 5 minute natural release and then do a quick release for the remaining pressure.
  9. Remove the ham from the instant pot and place it on a serving dish.
  10. Using a pastry brush, brush the glaze onto the cooked ham and then serve.

You can reheat your ham in the oven by placing it in a covered baking dish. Heat your oven to 275 degrees and add a little water to the bottom of the pan to help your ham gain some additional moisture.

Bake for about 10 minutes per pound.

Ingredients

  • 1 Spiral Ham - 3.5-4lb
  • Cup Honey
  • Cup Brown Sugar

Notes

Want a Ham a little less sweet but also delicious? Try this:

½ Cup Honey

½ Cup Dijon Mustard

3 Tbs Worcestershire Sauce

2 teaspoon Garlic

Mix ingredients together. Pull half of glaze aside. Add a teaspoon or two in between each slice of ham before cooking. Use remaining glaze to brush on after cooking.

For Instant Pot: Add 1 cup of water or broth to bottom and place ham on trivet. Follow the directions from above.
