And some websites explain it's an illegal one.
The other hand,it can also means like a booklover(slang?)

It has to do with fight clubs and such (also horse racing? I’m not entirely sure on that one)

@afiri107mk A bookmaker, sometimes called a “bookie” when it comes to illegal terms.Bookie, or turf accountant is an organization or a person that accepts and pays off bets on sporting and other events at agreed-upon odds.Bookmaking was generally illegal in the United States due to the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992.
Betting is illegal in many countries I think.
It can also be is a word that describes a totally nerd, anda book worm.
That's all I know about Bookie.
